The Dolphin Hotel set to be new home of Country Music
Get your Dancing Shoes ready as the newly re-launched Dolphin Hotel and Mulhern's Bar and Restaurant in Crossmolina in Mayo are set to bring back 'Dancing at the Dolphin' by staging a series of Irish Country Music events in the Function room and entertainment venue at the Iconic Boutique Hotel.
Manchester Mayo couple Pat and Mary Mulhern are set to make Crossmolina in North Mayo the new home of Country Music in the West of Ireland.
The hotel which is just a few miles outside of Ballina is in negotiations to bring some of the biggest Irish Country Music stars in the business to the venue in the 2020. The Hotel launched their series of Country Music Nights on New Years Day with Trevor Moyles on Wednesday 1 January. TR Dallas was at the venue on Saturday 4 January, whilst one of Ireland's hottest Country Music stars, Eunice Moran from Midwest Radio appeared on Saturday 18 January and Jason Moyles is playing the venue on Saturday 25 January. The Dance orientated events will continue on a regular basis to help establish the hotel as the 'go to venue' for Irish Country Music in North Mayo. Acts lined up to appear at the venue include John McNicoll, Stephen Smyth, Declan Nearney, John Hogan, Carmel McLoughlin and Threes Country.
The hotel has just had a Million Euro refurbishment and the Phase 2 of its development to launch its 10 bed Boutique Hotel is to be launched just in time for people coming home for Christmas. The ensuite rooms which include a number of family rooms have been designed by RTE TV Interior Designer, Catherine Ruane from Foxford in County Mayo .
When asked about their plans for the Hotel the new owners Pat and Mary Mulhern replied "We are very excited about bringing live entertainment and Dance events on a regular basis back to the Dolphin Hotel, with the new hotel rooms now open and the restaurant and bar gaining excellent reviews, it will be an ideal spot for people to come and visit Crossmolina and stay the weekend. The function room is an ideal size for weddings and all sorts of live entertainment. We are looking forward to working with the community to develop its potential as an entertainment venue. The Hotel is already home to the internationally famous Atlantic Rhythm Dance Productions and The Moffatt School of Irish Dance and we are looking forward to working with them on future events at the venue. We have already staged very successful events for the Crossmolina Festival and the Crossmolina Vision 2025 and are looking forward to developing the Hotel into a destination venue for entertainment in North Mayo. It was great to welcome Mayo's Senator - Michelle Mulherin and Country Music star - Chantel Padden and Eurovision star - Simon Casey to the venue in the summer. We cannot wait to reveal our full list of stars who will be heading to Crossmolina during 2020."
